Build foundational life strategies through fun & structured play

Our foundation is built on integrity, character development, and biblical wisdom. We prioritize excellence in all things—from the precision of a chess tactic to the professional launch of a micro-enterprise—ensuring our youth understand their divine calling and their responsibility to impact the community.

Chess & Critical Thinking

Build foundational strategy through fun, structured play for Juniors (7–11) or master advanced tactics and tournament preparation in our Teen Track (12–18). Students develop the focus, patience, and analytical skills necessary to make high-pressure decisions with confidence.

Youth Entrepreneurship & Business Development

From running "Kidpreneur" mini-ventures to launching real-world micro-enterprises, we equip youth with financial literacy and branding expertise. Our students learn to identify opportunities, develop business plans, and pitch their ideas to local entrepreneurs

Media & Production

Youth explore purpose-driven storytelling through film production, podcasting, and digital content creation. Students gain technical studio skills while building a professional portfolio, with select projects featured on our streaming platform.

What age groups does Think First Academy serve?

We serve youth ages 7–18 living in Southeast Washington, DC. To ensure development is age-appropriate, we offer a Junior Track for ages 7–11 and a Teen Track for ages 12–18.

What specific skills will my child learn?

Students engage in three core pillars: Chess & Critical Thinking for strategic decision-making, Youth Entrepreneurship for financial literacy and business development, and Media & Creative Arts for technical production and storytelling. Each track is designed to build "life-readiness" through discipline and character development.

How long is the program commitment?

Think First Academy is a year-long journey, not a one-off workshop. Our roadmap is divided into six seasonal phases, starting with Foundations in January and concluding with a Showcase & Celebration in December.

How does chess help with real-world success?

We use chess as a tool to teach youth to "think before they move" in every area of life. By mastering strategy on the board, students develop the focus, patience, and analytical skills necessary to make wise decisions under pressure in school, business, and their personal lives.
